Argon Gas is an inert gas that is 38% denser than air. It is a poor conductor, therefore when used as the air space filler between your double glazed units further reduces heat loss from your windows and doors. The use of Argon gas is recommended to enhance the thermal performance of your double glazed units. Argon gas is added during the manufacturing process of the IGU (Insulated Glass Unit/double glazed unit) and cannot be added at a later date. The use of Argon gas together with Low E glass will achieve the maximum thermal performance of a double glazed unit.
